Laser hair removal inside a dermatology practice
Laser hair removal is a medical treatment: the laser, the settings, and the person holding the handpiece all matter, especially across different skin tones. At the Dixie Street studio, licensed laser practitioners perform every session, with protocols set under the medical direction of Sarah Wilson, MD, board-certified dermatologist, in the same building as West Georgia Dermatology. Every guest gets medical-grade screening before any laser treatment, and your practitioner checks your skin and hair type at a free consultation before your first session.
Parking, check-in, and hours
The studio is at 601 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA 30117, across from the Tanner Specialty building near Tanner Medical Center, with free parking at the door. Check in at the main West Georgia Dermatology desk and mention Carroll Cosmetic Club; the cosmetic studio is just past the main reception. Small areas such as the upper lip or underarms take about 15 minutes, so a session fits into a lunch break. We are open Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 5:00, plus select Saturdays; call or text (770) 838-9274.
Your laser hair removal series in Carrollton
Hair grows in cycles, so laser hair removal works as a series. Here is how it usually goes.
- Consult and planA free consultation confirms that your hair and skin respond well to the laser and maps your areas. Most areas need 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart.
- PrepareShave the area 24 hours before, and skip waxing, tweezing, threading, and depilatories for four weeks. Keep the area away from sun, self-tanner, and spray tans for two weeks.
- TreatYou feel brief snaps of heat with each pulse, and integrated cooling keeps the session quick; most guests find it very tolerable. Small areas take about 15 minutes, and legs about half an hour.
- Shed and repeatOver one to three weeks the treated hairs shed, which can look like growth. Each session catches follicles entering their growth phase, and hair returns finer and sparser.
After each session
A mild sunburn feeling, redness, and slight swelling around the follicles are normal and usually settle within hours; a cloth-wrapped cold compress helps. For 24–48 hours, stick to lukewarm water, skip heavy exercise, saunas, and hot tubs, and keep deodorant, makeup, and fragranced products off the area. For one to two weeks, protect the area from the sun, with SPF 30+ if exposure is unavoidable, and shave rather than wax or tweeze between sessions. Laser hair removal is not performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Individual results vary.

Small areas include the lip, chin, ears, and underarms; the Brazilian and the upper or lower arms are medium areas; full legs and the back are large areas. Club members can also buy the full-body package, one small, one medium, and one large area with five sessions each, for $3,500. The Club is $99 a month with a 12-month commitment. Your $99 a month is credited to your account for treatments and products, so it is not an extra fee. Active Club members receive complimentary touch-ups.
