A lip flip uses a few units of neuromodulator to relax the upper lip so more of it shows; lip filler adds actual volume with hyaluronic-acid gel. The flip is subtle, inexpensive, and lasts about 2–3 months. Filler is more transformative, costs more, and lasts 6–12 months. They solve different problems — and they combine beautifully.
Choose a lip flip if…
Your upper lip disappears when you smile, or you want a slightly fuller-looking upper lip without any added volume. A flip relaxes the muscle at the lip border so the lip rolls gently outward. It takes minutes, uses only a few units of Botox®-family product, and reads as "did you sleep well?" rather than "did you get your lips done?" The trade-off: it's subtle, and it fades in 2–3 months.
Choose lip filler if…
You want visible volume, definition, symmetry correction, or hydration that lasts. Lip filler is sculpted — border definition, balanced proportions, volume where your anatomy wants it. Done conservatively (our default), it looks like your lips on their best day. Results last 6–12 months and HA filler is dissolvable if you ever change your mind. Club members get filler from $679/syringe.
The combination move
Flip + filler is a favorite for a reason: filler builds the shape, the flip enhances how much of it shows when you smile. If you're event-planning, sequence matters — filler at least two weeks out so swelling settles, flip anytime after.
