What to expect
After numbing cream, the laser pass itself takes about 15 minutes. Most guests describe warmth and light prickling. Expect redness like a sunburn for a day or two and light sandpapery texture as skin turns over. Makeup is usually fine within a couple of days.

Prep & aftercare

Before your visit+
- Strictly avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for 2 weeks before your treatment.
- No waxing, depilatories, electrolysis, or laser hair removal on the area for the week before.
- Pause retinoids (Retin-A, tretinoin, retinol), AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and other exfoliating products for 3 days beforehand.
- Tell your provider about any history of cold sores before treatment day.
- Arrive with clean skin: no makeup or products.
Aftercare, hour by hour+
Right after
- Expect the treated area to be red and feel like a sunburn. It can build over the first 24 hours, and that's normal.
First 24 hours
- No cleansers, moisturizers, or SPF yet.
- Cool water, cold compresses, and ice packs ease any discomfort.
After 24 hours
- Resume gentle cleanser, gentle moisturizer, and SPF.
First 72 hours
- Avoid sun, hot water, heavy sweating, and strenuous exercise. Heat and blood flow can irritate healing skin.
- Minimizing sun for a full week maximizes your result.
- No retinols, AHAs, or exfoliants until healing is complete, typically 5–7 days.

How is CoolPeel different from traditional CO2 lasers?+
Traditional CO₂ resurfacing delivers sustained heat deep into tissue and can require 1–2 weeks of recovery. CoolPeel® delivers high energy in very short pulses, so you get resurfacing benefits with only a few days of redness and a sandpapery feel.
What is the downtime?+
Most guests are red for 24–48 hours with mild dryness or flaking for a few days, comfortable enough for daily life, though you will avoid makeup briefly and be strict about SPF.
How many treatments will I need?+
A single CoolPeel® noticeably refreshes skin; a series of 2–3 spaced about a month apart delivers the best texture and tone improvement. Many guests maintain with 1–2 sessions per year.
