What to expect

Prep & aftercare

Before your visit+
- No waxing, depilatories, electrolysis, or laser hair removal on the area for the week before.
- Pause retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating products for 3 days beforehand.
- For VirtueRF, skipping NSAIDs beforehand is recommended — anti-inflammatories can blunt the collagen response. Check with your physician before stopping any prescribed medication.
- Tell your provider about any history of cold sores.
- Arrive with clean skin — no makeup or products.
Aftercare, hour by hour+
Right after
- Redness and a sunburned feeling are expected and can build over the first 24 hours — completely normal.
First 24 hours
- For SkinPen: only the provided calming complex on your skin — as often as you like.
- No cleansers, moisturizers, or SPF yet; cool compresses help.
After 24 hours
- Resume gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.
First 72 hours
- Avoid sun, hot water, heavy sweating, and strenuous exercise.
- No retinols, AHAs, or exfoliants until healed — typically 5–7 days. A full week of sun avoidance protects your result.
