Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a gentle physical exfoliation performed with a sterile surgical blade that removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) — leaving skin immediately smoother, brighter, and better at absorbing skincare. No downtime, makeup glides on flawlessly.

About the treatment

Performed by our licensed aestheticians, dermaplaning sweeps away the dull outer layer of dead skin cells along with the fine facial hair that traps oil and makeup. The result is immediate: smoother texture, brighter tone, better product penetration, and the smoothest makeup application you have ever had.

It pairs beautifully with a chemical peel or SkinWave facial in the same visit — exfoliating first lets everything that follows work harder.

How Dermaplaning works

Dermaplaning is precision exfoliation: a sterile blade, held at exactly the right angle by a trained aesthetician, sweeps away dead surface cells and vellus “peach fuzz” in one pass.

  1. PrepSkin is cleansed and dried completely — the blade needs a clean, dry canvas.
  2. PlaneFeather-light strokes across the face lift away dead skin and fine hair. Painless and oddly relaxing.
  3. GlowImmediate smoothness — makeup applies like a filter and skincare absorbs noticeably better.

Why we love it

Zero downtime, instant payoff

Thirty minutes, no recovery, visibly smoother skin — the easiest yes in aesthetics.

Makeup's best friend

Foundation sits differently on planed skin. Brides book this before the trial, not just the wedding.

$30 add-on

Just $30 with any facial — the highest-leverage add-on on our menu.

What to expect

You will feel a light scraping sensation — completely painless, most guests find it relaxing. Skin may be slightly pink for an hour or two. There is no downtime, though you will want diligent SPF for the following week. And no, the peach fuzz does not grow back thicker or darker — vellus hair returns exactly as it was.

Good to know

  • No downtime — a favorite lunchtime and pre-event treatment.
  • Peach fuzz grows back soft and unchanged — the “thicker hair” worry is a myth.
  • Club members save 15% on every visit.
  • Not suitable over active acne breakouts — your aesthetician will assess first.

Prep & aftercare

Simple rules, big payoff — here is exactly how to protect your result. You will also get these in writing after your visit.

Before your visit+
  • Pause retinols and exfoliating acids for 3 days beforehand.
  • Arrive with clean, dry skin — no makeup.
Aftercare, hour by hour+

First 24–48 hours

  • Freshly planed skin is extra receptive — and extra sun-sensitive. SPF every morning, gentle products only, and hold the retinol for a couple of days.

Frequently asked questions

Does peach fuzz grow back thicker after dermaplaning?+
No — that is a myth. Vellus (fine) hair is structurally different from terminal hair and grows back exactly as soft and fine as before.
How often should I dermaplane?+
About once a month, matching your skin’s natural turnover cycle — or as a one-off before a big event for perfectly smooth makeup application.
Can I combine it with other treatments?+
Yes — dermaplaning first makes peels, facials, and skincare more effective. Ask about pairing it with a SkinWave facial or chemical peel in one visit.

The Dermatology Difference

Physician medical direction

Every protocol operates under the medical direction of a board-certified dermatologist — not a franchise playbook.

Inside a dermatology practice

Our studios live inside real dermatology offices, with Mohs surgery and a dermatopathology lab behind the same walls.

Medical screening first

Health history and skin assessment before any treatment — and a Visia analysis so recommendations start from data.

A physician in the building

If anything ever needs a doctor’s eye, one is down the hall — not on a phone line.
